These extensive gardens are home to giant tortoises and several fabulous orchards containing many exotic fruit trees with evocative names: nutmeg, bell-fruit, sapote, clove or plum of Cythere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From these orchards, these fruits are converted into local delicacies, which can be enjoyed along with the local rum, also produced on site. Enjoy a gastronomic and creative cuisine at La Table du Ch\u00e2teau, inspired by the fruits and vegetables harvested on the <a href=\"https:\/\/domainedelabourdonnais.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Domaine de Labourdonnais<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-villavie-blue-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aventuredusucre.com\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">L\u2019Aventure du sucre<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beau-Plan, an old sugar factory which has been reconverted in the sugar museum, shows how sugarcane has shaped the history of Mauritius, its economy, its landscape and its people. A modern and lively museum, which is much more than a museum, it\u2019s an adventure! Children will be accompanied in their discovery by cartoon characters, will attend a screening and will enjoy answering small interactive quizzes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-villavie-blue-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size wp-block-heading\">The Botanical Garden of Pamplemousses<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This famous garden, which was created over 300 years ago during the French colonial era, is the fruit of the hard work and passion of the famous horticulturist and botanist Pierre Poivre, the governor of the island, which was then known as Isle de France. Thirty-seven acres are home to a valuable collection of rare and century old trees, including the majestic \u2018Talipot\u2019 palm tree, which flowers only every forty to sixty years.
